Nowadays, the horse is achieving more and more popularity and publicity especially in the area of animal-supported intervention. Due to their good-natured and affectionate manner, horses are qualified for multiple use. This Masters thesis was implemented due to the small number of scientific publications in the area of horse-supported work in Austria and the whole German speaking region and this should be a contribution. The goal of this paper is to show individual offerings in the pedagogical and curative field throughout Styria by comparing them in terms of education, targets, zones of impact and audience. These offerings were chosen owing to the pedagogic emphasis. Furthermore, the different aspects of the medium horse were questioned, as were the limits of the offerings. The aspects are explained theoretically. Following this, a study was accomplished based on seven expert interviews with various representatives of horse-supported work in Styria. The results of this study highlight that the offerings differ mainly in the areas depending on the education of the providor, the used methods, the audience and the individual emphases. Consequently the offerings of the horse-supported interventions are versatile and varied.
