In order to breed a proper species of Daucus carota L., in the midst of the special climatic conditions of the Marchfeld in Lower Austria, 17 sorts of carrots were raised (RENNER 2009). These 17 kinds of carrots were proofed as well as selected. Later, 6 of the primary 17 different carrot-species were chosen for further development. In this respect, the 6 cultivars of Daucus carota L. as well as the hybrid species Maestro were bred under 3 different soil irrigations: customary in a place (control), reduced and intense reduced. Concerning the behavior of the 7 different kinds of Daucus carota L. in regard to the 3 varying irrigations, we choose for the physiological research parameter, which are indicators for stress and lead us to the vitality of the plants. In this respect, we choose the carotinoids ß-carotin, -carotin and lutein as well as the antioxidants amino acid and -tocopherol.In conclusion, small soil conditions as well as the special physiology of the 7 kinds of carrots have more impact on the plants than the diverse irrigations. Thus, the single sorts of Daucus carota L. differ partially significant from each other even though in case of the same water level. The varying soil irrigation had just a small impact on the plants.
