The thesis at hand aims at evaluating how to best address the topic cleaning supplies in chemistry class. In the first section, the numerous contents of cleaning supplies as well as their role in terms of cleaning phrasing are considered. Thereby, various cleaning supplies are investigated concerning their historical development and their composition. Furthermore, information concerning dirt and the cleaning process are provided. In the second section, the thesis reflects about pedagogical deliberations. To be precise, competence models are presented, a reference to the curriculum is made, an interdisciplinary scope is presented as well as the importance of experiments in chemistry class are discussed. Due to these deliberations, the practical section of this thesis presents a teaching period of several hours for both lower grade as well as high school classes for implementation. For this purpose, applicable documents for teachers and pupils, as well as safety instructions in order to conduct experiments with numerous cleaning supplies, are included in the thesis.
