The application of statistical methods for analysis of economic phenomena is getting more and more popular in recent years. Especially commercial econometrics packages are taught in university programs and moreover also the most widely used solutions in applied econometrics research. All currently available software packages are realised for personal computer operating systems and at the moment no software solution is available for the growing market of mobile devices. The following work attempts to fill this gap through development of a foundation for an iOS based econometrics tablet application.A conceptual application structure, based on mathematical and theoretical parts of the work, is developed, which allows users usage of a complete modelling workflow from data import to economic system simulation. Alongside import possibilities of local data from other applications, it is possible to access and import data from public sector institutions. In addition to graph visualisation of imported data, the focus on application visualisation allows graphic illustration of regression diagnostics. In the last part of the conceptual chapter, a graphics concept for the application is developed.In the second part of the work implementation details are shown, which illustrate usage of state of the art technology. The application is realised in the programming language Swift and data persistence is performed with a specialised database, which is optimised for mobile devices. In the following parts of this work the most important implementation details are illustrated. The mathematical methods are derived from established Python statistics libraries and are implemented with optimised low-level functionality. Calculations are performed with double precision and the app accesses processors in parallel to optimise computation time.
