Informal learning and the accompanying skills acquisition, which reduces social disparity is happening in our society. However, often only outcomes from the formal educational system find recognition in our society. Therefore, this master thesis focuses solely on the significance of informal learning and the resulting skills acquisition of the topic area confectioner. The formal educational system is not to be depreciated simultaneously.This paper shall examine, in what way informal learning can contribute to skills acquisition in the workplace using the example of a WIFI master school confectioner. The researched subject area was first theoretically discussed using relevant literature. In the next step, expert interviews were conducted, carried out with five female participants, aged 28-49, of the before mentioned master class confectioner.The obtained empirical data showed, that all participants highlighted the group aspect with regard to informal learning and the thereof won skills acquisition, as important. Some participants could also practice skills and capabilities requested of the master class in their workplace.The survey also showed, that no professional acquisition took place in the workplace alone. In summary it can be said, that an involvement and acknowledgement of all learning forms must take place in the future.
