The spotlight was put on the improvement of Equal Treatment especially through EU legislation in the early 2000s again. With the adoption of some relevant directives, the protection against discrimination within the member states should be promoted. Naturally, the modification of the European legal framework influenced the developments in Austria as well. Therefore, Austria?s legislation concerning Equal Treatment underwent a fundamental reorganization in 2004. Since that time, there have been 5 amendments whereby the main focus of this work is on its last and thus most current amendment.A first draft of the amendment was submitted in July 2012 but failed subsequently. Finally, however, could still be reached an agreement, which is why the Equal Treatment Amendment was promulgated on 2013-6-20.In the context of this thesis were all changes that were issued as part of this said last amendment to the Austrian Equal Treatment law, each separated by laws, lit. The reform efforts focused in particular on the Equal Treatment Act (GlBG) and the GBK / GAW-G, but modifications were also noted in the AVRAG and in disability equality.
