The main concern of this paper is "dancing" in lessons of sports education, to be more precise, a module course for the "Modulare Oberstufe".Due to the fact that this system was successfully tested since 2004, it is going to be obligatory in all Austrian "Allgemeinbildenden Höheren Schulen (AHS) und Berufsbildenden Mittleren und Höheren Schulen (BMHS)" by the school year of 2017. The paper consists of a theoretical and practical part. The former gives a deeper insight into the topics of dance and the "Modulare Oberstufe". The chapter dance specifically issues the history of development and the characteristics of the following styles of dancing: "hip hop", "aerobic", "jazz dance", "Gangnam style". Furthermore, this chapter tackles the field of dancing in lessons of sports education and the competences which are fostered by it.The chapter of the "Modulare Oberstufe" is concerned with the concept of the modular system, also with its structures and aims, which ought to be reached ultimately. In the practical part a possible option of realizing a dancing module in the subject movement and sports is depicted. Therefore, exercise sequences have been developed, which contain not only warming-up exercises, but also choreographies. These choreographies are attached on a CD at the end of the diploma thesis.
