In Europe, 60% of adults and more than 20% of schoolchildren are overweight or obesed. Compared to international studies from OECD and UNICEF, assessing health and risk behavior of children and d adolescents, Austria is ranked last behind all other European countries (vgl. Schaffelhofer-Garcia Marquez, Bericht der Lage der Kinder- und Jugendgesundheit in Österreich 2011, 2011, S. 6). About 20, 2% of boys and 17, 7% of girls in Austria, at the age of 6 to 14 years, are concerned by obesity or overweight. More than a third of all Austrian students complain about regular physical and psychical problems.Obesity is known to be caused by various reasons. There are causes based on biological (genetic), environmental (eating habits, anergic state), social- cultural, psychical and psychosomatic factors.Regular physical activity is one of the most important preventations and interventions to improve mental health, general well- being and quality of life. Basically, sport should be already be used in childhood and adolescence to treat obesity. In order to fight the disease and improve the situation, it is very important to integrate exercises in normal daily life. It should be normal for children and Teenagers to help in the household and to walk to school or ride a bike instead of taking the school bus or car. Biking, or playing with friends outside, in place of playing computer. But nevertheless, physical educational hours and programs at schools are constantly reduced. After school care for children is one of the most important measures towards an active and heath conscious behavior of young people.This paper contains a sport- related program for heterogeneous, mixed sexes and overweight or obese children and adolescents, to initiate a better and varied after school care for secondary education.
