Company health promotion has gained increasing importance in Austria since its development in 1993 as positive effects of health promotion programmes have now been proven as well as noticed in companies and their employees. Movement intervention, as a method of company health promotion, will be discussed and presented in this paper. As personal competences can be sustainably developed through programmes, movement intervention is said to be a characteristic of a company?s quality. First, company health promotion will be explained in depth in this paper to further investigate sport and movement as important part of health promotion. Besides the psychic and physical effects of sport and movement on the body, the focus will lie on the fields and methods of company health promotion. After a detailed insight into the topic of movement intervention and the ?field: company?, a concept of a movement intervention weekend for the company Odörfer Eisenhof GmbH was designed.
