The „musikprotokoll des ORF im steirischen herbst“ is an avant-garde-festival, it is incorporated with the festival „steirischer herbst“ and was founded simultaneously in 1968 in Graz, the capital of styria. The „musikprotokoll“ includes the musical, purely contemporary branch in the frame of the cultural complex presented as „steirischer herbst“. The present work analyses from the early days of the founding period, in particular, the socio-cultural situation of the city of Graz, the founders and important people and the cultural precursors of the festival. Since then the „musikprotokoll“ is part of the „steirischer herbst“, and therefore it is not possible to separate the history completely from this. In terms of the mutually inspiring culture saved, there should given a wide presentation of the arts in the documentation of the early history. The first concert series of the „musikprotokoll“ 1968 will be closely analyzed under cardinal compliance of the media-reports.
