The present master thesis gives an insight into the implementation of full-time schools with the focus on the transition processes from the primary school to a new middle school full-time class. The basis for this study is the work in the educational region “Lafnitztal“, in which these phenomena were explored and new ideas developed. The cornerstones here are, above all, joint cooperation between the schools in the education region and the mutually pursued objectives, as well as the related focus on the child in terms of competence-oriented teaching and the support for transition processes from one educational institution to another. The aim of the thesis is to show the different learning biographies and developmental levels of pupils, to respond to their needs individually, and to design the transitions for all children as pleasantly as possible through successful concepts within all the schools in the educational region. In doing so, the willingness to cooperate and, as a result, a certain amount of time spent by all parties involved is addressed.The theoretical part describes the characteristics of full-time schools, on-the-job training as well as the objectives and tasks with a focus on the implementation of the full-time school in the educational region Lafnitztal. Furthermore, starting points for a successful transition process are presented and discussed, as well as various forms of cooperation and partnerships in terms of a successful transition.The research question is explained and answered in the empirical section. Data are collected on the basis of a document analysis in the form of a comparison between the curricula of the primary school and the new middle school, and on the other hand by conducting interviews with experts from the educational region Lafnitztal, which are subsequently analysed and interpreted. The common objectives and regulations of the primary school and new middle school are visible in the curricula. Other exemplary results of the study are conveyed by the interviews, which provide information about the positive development of cooperation in the educational region Lafnitztal with regard to the transition processes and thus the cooperation place the child as an individual in the centre of attention.
