Internationalization has led to increased intercultural interactions. Thus, there is also a growing demand for expatriates who are confronted with numerous obstacles such as the language. Lack of professional competences and intercultural skills mean that foreign assignments fail. Nevertheless, not all companies offer intercultural trainings.Accordingly, the goal of the present Masters thesis is to develop a theoretical concept of an intercultural training for expatriates. The training program should involve elements that include the transfer of information and content as well as the application of different methods. Moreo-ver, the effectiveness of these elements will also be analyzed. Not only work-related information, but also private components are considered in the training program. Therefore, the research question is: Which content and methodical elements should be included in an inter-cultural training program for expatriates in order to increase their effectiveness?Within the framework of the text and literature analysis, German and English books, journals and studies were analyzed. After this analysis, the theoretical chapters were elaborated and finally an intercultural training program was conceived. It was found that cultural-general und cultural-specific content should be combined. For the training program, however, the specific content has been designed in a way that it can be applied to every culture and country. In addition, theoretical content was linked with practical examples. In order to obtain the contents, experience-oriented cultural and didactic methods were used. Moreover, information-oriented, culture-oriented and interaction-oriented methods were utilized. Not only traditional methods, but also E-Learning elements have been applied. A central point was that as many methods as possible were used and combined.
