Due to globalization and growing internationalization of trade, increasing importance of cooperation between people from different cultural background is apparent. Underestimation of culturaldifferences can lead to disagreements or misunderstandings when co-operating with international partners. To avoid such problems it is essential therefore to understand and recognize the role of cultural diversity. The aim of this study is to compare the corporate culture of Ukrainian and Austrian companies and to clarify the impact of national culture on corporate culture, and also to understand the relationships between them. The timeliness of this topic is due to a shortage of studies that explore the Ukraine in terms of organizational culture in the context of local culture. The thesis isdivided into two parts. In the first part the relevant theoretical foundations of corporate culture, national culture and their explorations are presented. Also presented are the major cross-cultural studies of Hofstede and Trompenaars. The second empirical part of this Master's thesis, with the help of the available literature, works out a quantitative comparison of the cultural dimensions between Ukraine and Austria. Additionally a questionnaire survey is carried out, based on the five dimensions of Hofstede, which works out the cultural differences between Austria and Ukraine and explains their influences on organizational culture.
