Theoretical basics of the concept of competence and practice-oriented exercises are the main topics of my magisterial thesis "competence-oriented exercises for teaching psychology..." Basically, a widely accepted definition of competence is still missing. The development of the term competence was forced by the discourse between linguistics and psychology. With the help of these results and new definitions from didactics, it should be possible to come closer to a more general definition of the concept of competence. Concepts such as education-standards and key-qualifications are often misinterpreted as competence. Amongst other aspects of competence, chapter two is to solve this specific misunderstanding. Part one provides the theoretical background for the second part of the thesis, which is dedicated to writing out exercises - each with a specific competence as point of departure. The allocation of exercises is done in relation to the main chapters of teaching psychology. With regard to school conditions the exercises were conceptualized to be economic, diverting, and simple in their use.
