This thesis describes the sport of Floorball and its applicability as a school sport. While Floorball is still a marginal sport in Austria, it enjoys enormous popularity in Finland, Sweden and Switzerland. Floorball is called ?Inneband? in Sweden, ?Salibandy? in Finland, and ?Floorball? in Switzerland. After a general introduction, the thesis gives an overview of the history of the game, the equipment, the different way it can be played, and the rules of the game. The rules of the game are very simple. There is a very low risk of injury. The equipment is relatively low cost. Both girls and boys can play with each other or against each other with ease. In my thesis I create a reference to the current AHS curriculum for exercise and sports to illustrate that Floorball is perfectly suitable for any physical education program. Subsequently, 10 lesson plans are depicted. The respective units are designed for a duration of 90 minutes each and can be part of a high school?s curriculum. The ultimate aim will be the participation in an Austrian Floorball School Championship. Included in the thesis is a graphic depiction of the exercises in an effort to make them easier to understand. The thesis concludes with a vision for the future. I personally believe that in the coming years Floorball will be part of the physical education curriculum in Austria, and I hope that my work will contribute a small part to that goal.
