Introduction:In Austria, the Netzwerk-BGF is responsible for the workplace health promotion. This paper compares the individual workplace health promotion project of an Austrian company, with the suggestions of the Netzwerk-BGF. The company integrated in their new headquarter a gym for the employees. It contains machines for cardio, strength and flexibility training. Furthermore, there are guided courses offered by an external expert.Method:An online questionnaire was sent to the employees. This data was compared with results of national and international literature. The Literature search was based on the online platforms PubMed and Google/Scholar.Results:40 participants (32,5% women and 67% men) finished successfully the online questionnaire. 80% of the employees feel that they are “healthy” or “very healthy”. 89,2% have the opinion that there is a better understanding for health in their company because of the new gym. Furthermore said 64,9%, that the gym supported the team building process in their company. Because of the new gym 75,7% of the employees said that it strengthens the identification to their company. 30 of the 40 respondents workout at the company gym or external to improve their health. Conclusion:63% of all adults are working. Therefore, the labor market provides a very good opportunity for the population to get access to health promotion programs. Workplace health promotion programs still have an unsecure position in many companies, although the positive impact on the employees health and the return of invest for the company has been proven many times.
