This diploma thesis will provide a scientific insight into the Triestine Karst and its geographical as well as its cultural aspects. In addition, an interdisciplinary course with an excursion was planned, which is to be conducted for a class with Italian as a foreign language in the third year. In the scientific section geomorphology, climate, vegetation and utilization as well as selected peculiarities of the Triestine Karst are presented, while in the didactic part, the interdisciplinary preparation, the follow-up, and the excursion are in the focus of interest. In the course of the thesis, a literary-historical approach for the Triestine Karst is to be presented. The physio-geographical and cultural aspects described in this thesis are also to be explored during the excursion. In doing so, the pupils should solve tasks that are prepared before this excursion and presented and reflected in the teaching units. The focus of this out-of-school learning is not only on the nature and culture of the Triestine Karst, but also its interdisciplinary skills. In this way, the pupils should speak as much Italian as possible during the excursion and collect information which is not limited to the study area, but also applies generally to karst areas. Accordingly, the teaching materials were designed. All the exercises which are to be carried out during the preliminary and post-processing, as well as during the excursion, were planned in such a way that the pupils are often work together and communicate in groups. Open tasks allow self-formation by the pupils, which should lead to the young people becoming more self-assured and creative.
