AbstractThe exhibition of terror. An analysis of the museum?s presentation of the RAF in Berlin and GrazMy thesis is about the pictorial presentation of the Red Fraction Army, also called RAF, their medial attendance during the exhibition ?Regarding the Terror. RAF?. The exhibit was shown from the 29th of January till 16th of May 2005 at the ?Kunst Werke? ? Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin. The exhibit was also presented in Austria, from the 26th of June till 28th of August 2005 at the Neue Galerie am Landesmuseum Joaneum. At the beginning of my thesis I give an abstract about the history of the three generations of the RAF. The next large chapter is about the exhibition itself and is also a preface for the next part. But first to this chapter, it includes the explanation of who the curators were. It explains what the subject of the exhibition is, and what art in connection with terror can do. Moreover the controversial debate from the year 2003 which was caused by a non authorized draft paper discussed. Graz as the second city where the exhibit was to be seen is as well covered. My final chapter is about the medial description on the RAF-exhibition and not about the RAF itself. The period of examination was from the 1st of January till 31st of March 2005, whereas there was nearly no coverage about the exhibition in the last month. Besides the international press also professionals? journals are discussed. The focus is on the daily and weekly press in Germany, therefore der Spiegel, die Zeit, die Tageszeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung and the swiss newspaper Neue Züricher Zeitung is analyzed. The following questions are reviewed: Who was writing? What was the substant of the article? Was there a difference between the victims and the actors?
