The current master thesis focuses on chosen motivational theories and describes an attempt to find a connection between psychological base of motivation and the physical education lessons of the 10-14 year old pupils. The theoretical part provides the explanation for the terms related to motivation, such as the behavior of the pupils in this age, school sport and sport facilities. The scientific base of the project is data collected from 112 pupils from the four classes of academic high school Klusemannstraße in a form of a questionnaire, which has been further analyzed in the empirical chapters of the thesis. The questions consisted of favourite subjects, efforts, reasons of success and failure, as well as the wishes and suggested changes for the physical education lessons. The questionnaires filled by the pupils provided answers for the research questions and the collected data explained the trends in the answers between 10-14 years old pupils, as well as the differences between genders.
