This master thesis tries to figure out which substantial contribution of social education is part of institutions, who deal with children and adolescents that suffer from psychiatric disorders. The purpose of this master thesis is to find out methods, that help activate, support and develop resources of children and adolescents. Furthermore, its important to take a look at the cooperation between the psychiatric institutions and the parents or the persons, the children and adolescents are familiar with. Another thing is to consider the regularly patterns and habits and figure out how the children and adolescents spend their time and how they organize their daily routines. This paper considers the fact that due to social education its possible to search for a holistic solution and to provide a proper individual healing. To achieve this goal there has to be a look taken at the resources, skills and capabilities of the child or the adolescent. To improve the treatment, while staying in a mental health institution, social pedagogues establish a daily routine according to the life, the children and adolescents had organized before. The routine allows the patients to gain the feeling of security, trust and self-confidence. These are important parts to ensure a personalized care. Besides those there is another important fact to be taken into account. Its about the cooperation. Not only the collaboration between different institutions but rather the cooperation with the parents or the persons, the patients are familiar with. All of these parts were stock together and got collected in interviews to find out remarkable correlations between theoretical ad empirical implementation. Those data were exposed in detail at the end of this thesis.
