The development of primary school aged kids indicates a significant deterioration in physical health. A considerable number of studies, media coverage and other reports reveal this negative growth in many cases. Therefore, the aim of this diploma thesis will be the development of a model for primary schools with more movement related components and characteristics of an active school. In consequence of the last PISA-results the individual education systems of Scandinavia will be analyzed. The presented concept includes and reflects a high number of ideas by both the author and acknowledged scientists. Furthermore, the author suggests the realization of an increased involvement of sport clubs in active school life. Hence, three substantial Styrian physical activity initiatives will be analyzed and compared. Finally, there is a collection of uncomplicated but varied game ideas which are appropriate for the classroom, the school yard or school trips.
