The concept of diversity becomes more and more important in current social developments. Hence, organizations, institutions and their fellow partners are challenged to address diversity in their present and future work. Awareness of diversity and a professional approach to any correspondent topics should already be promoted amongst school pupils. School pupils have to learn how to deal with diversity in private, school and working life. The latest curriculum of Austrian Commercial Colleges, applied since autumn 2014, includes subjects as diversity, diversity management, dealing with variety and gaining intercultural competences. Based on this information the research question was specified. It focuses on diversity and diversity management as an interdisciplinary teaching design for economic sciences at Austrian Commercial Colleges. At the beginning of this master thesis, the basics of diversity and diversity management are discussed theoretically, so that a common knowledge base is established. Afterwards the latest curriculum is analyzed in detail, which means that diversity and all corresponding issues like diversity management, gender or intercultural competences are examined. The analysis shows that the concept of diversity is included indirectly in general educational aims, general didactical principles and teaching principles. Moreover, diversity and all corresponding issues are present in almost each cluster. Based on these results an interdisciplinary teaching design was developed in which diversity and diversity management are discussed in the sixth semester in Austrian Commercial Colleges for the first time. In the following semesters, the same contents are elaborated on a more detailed level and applied practically. The teaching design is supported by a case example, which focusses on the cluster entrepreneurship economy and management.
