In recent years, a further increase in the youth unemployment rate has been recorded. Despite numerous measures to promote young people in the labour market encounter disadvantaged young people at borders. This master's thesis entitled "The risk group of unemployed young people in Austria a qualitative study on the situation of disadvantaged young people" aware of the presence of the society the problem of youth unemployment in Austria and serves as a basis for further development of a socio-educational approach for disadvantaged youth to create equal opportunities in the labour market. To the research question "Which events in the life story of disadvantaged young people can be seen as risk factors in the situation of unemployment and in which areas of life, there are similarities and differences between the youth of this risk group?" pursue, narrative interviews come with unemployed, disadvantaged youth to apply. To analyze and compare the individual life stories of young people surveyed a biographical research approach is used. Based on the findings, the research question can be answered as follows: Amongst others structural, individual and social events as well as events and experiences in the fields of social background, education and skills, migration are risk factors for the situation of unemployment and are divided into general and specific risk factors for young unemployed people. These occur in childhood and early adolescence, let disadvantages arise and cause unequal opportunities in the labour market. The development of a custom-fit support offer, which considers the individuality of adolescents, could increase the chances of access of disadvantaged youth in the labour market. |
