AbstractSports and exercise are increasingly disappearing from our day to day life due to our modern lifestyle. Through modern technology, the progress made in the area of mobility has never been bigger in the history of mankind, but at the same time, people have never moved as little as they do today. Trying to counteract this phenomenon, people have thought of a multitude of ways to meet their natural urge for movement. This often shows to be more difficult than expected, especially when being a young mother. For some time, sports and exercisehave been recommended as part of a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy, benefiting the mothers health as well as the babys. With the birth of a new child and the sudden changes in daytime routines, young mothers often find it hard to make the time for physical exercise. The following paper is composed of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part will not only discussa variety of sports that can be donewith the baby but also talks about the health benefits of exercise and possible postnatal restrictions in movement for women. The practical part will describe a course, aiming to enable women to exercise with a toddler.
