Zusammenfassung (Englisch)

This paper deals with the following research questions: On what terms is it possible to adopt a sustainable and climate-friendly mobility behavior in communities? What are the relevant conditions, drivers and barriers for the adoptation of electromobility in styrian municipalities? How far can the municipality act as initiator and influence the diffusion of electromobility in the region positively? The first part of the paper analyses data especially from regional traffic concepts of the Austrian Federal Government. The different concepts get studied in terms of sustainable mobility and analyzed concerning targets and objectives for the diffusion of electric mobility in Austria. References are publications of the Federal Government of Austria, textbooks, and articles from scientific journals. The second and empirical part of the paper identifies qualitative data to answer the research questions. Deciding which instrument is used depends on the object of research (Bortz & Döring, 2005). In this case, information from representatives of the styrian municipalities about motives and barriers for the introduction of electric mobility is required. This data will be generated by a survey. A standardized questionnaire will be created and sent to all styrian municipalities, using the online tool "Lime Survey". The sample includes 288 municipalities. The representatives contact details is given through the styrian community server. Before starting the data collection, a pre-test was made to avoid misunderstandings and to make improvements.
